Description
In the year 1833, Earl Grey, the Earl of Howick Hall and then Prime Minister of Great Britain, broke the East India Company's price monopoly on the tea trade with China. The originally pure Chinese tea was lightly flavored with fine bergamot oil, where the Earl Grey Bergamot named after it. This citrus plant, native to China, was supposed to protect tea from the taste of mold and tar that could develop during the long sea voyage to royal England. This is how this tea got its name, and to this day Earl Grey is known as the epitome of the finest English tea. Discover the legend and enjoy the exquisite taste of this loose tea Earl Grey Bergamot.
